train train train train
Have now experienced what it is like to be on a train for 3 days and 4 nights straight. Without sitting on the toilet or having a shower. Was not at all as bad as it could have been. Much thanks to large quantities of vodka and beer - we even have a photo of the last beer on the train!!!! we drank them all.... All due to Jerrys bad influence. He claims we are adults that should know better, but we all know that is not true. Also met many many great people - our very own russian provinista (woman that looks after us on the train) among others. She was on holiday, so went on a train journey! And slept in our berth. Knew all the tricks, and managed to retreive Carolines train ticket after the proper provinista claimed she had no idea where it was...
Also met Peter the Provinista, (Pamela the Provinista on tuesdays) who trained at the University of Provinizstan. Caroline is now Cazakstan, and I am affectionally (at least they claim so) known as Olgapolga the guinea pig. Sense of humour tends to get a bit special after too many hours on train and too many vodkas drunk....
Otherwise we ate, planned the next meal (involved running around like fools when the train stopped for a few minutes), got gloves as Siberia turns out to be a bit chilly, read books and slept. Saw a lot of trees outside the window. And small villages with wooden houses.
We also met the other backpakkers that are doing the same as us, just by random of course - WE ARE NOT A GROUP!
Finally we landed in Irkutsk....
