up up up

So the monks never happened (couldn't really find them), but we did go up to Higherland inn to stay. At about 2800meters the name is well suited. Lovely place.
Must be said getting there was a bit of an experience too. as usual we brought everything with us - no sensible 'lets just take the small daypack and leave the rest in Dali'. The taxi driver looked a bit funny at us when he picked us up to take us to the cable cars, but we thought that was just the usual hopeless tourists look. As we stopped to make sure we were in the right place it all started to make sense though. No cablecars, but chairlifts! A lot of nervous laughter from us - hugh backpacks in tow... But I think the people working there had seen crazy foreigners before. We got one double chair each, and about half an hour later, we were on top!!! Well, closer to the 4100meter top anyway.
Ups! There will be a powercut in 10 min! Will continue this next time I get a chance!
Lots of love from us!!!

Yes, very sensible ! Don't go anywhere without bringing all possible necessary gears, especially not at that height (ropes, shackles, ice picks, parasuit, sleeping bags.....not mentioning the rescue kit). But haven't you got any of those "sherpas" ? Propably a good idea to get some. Very convenient (at least up-hill). Anyway, I guess you are not the "back packer" light anymore. So, hope you are both well and have a good time. Love from far (still on the sea).
