Halong Bay
After 2 nights in Hanoi, we went on a boat cruise to Halong Bay. Left the hotel early in the morning in a minibus. Got to the beach 3 hours later in a slightly shorter minibus... It got shortened when it didn't quite manage to stop behind the bigger bus that suddenly stopped to not hit a cyclist... Obviously the cyclist did not follow vietnamese traffic rules - stop for anything bigger than you. So neither did our bus driver. Nothing hurt though :)Halong Bay is a beautiful place. Lots of cliffs raising from the sea, vietnamese kites circling overhead and a million boats (full of tourists). Paddled in kayaks and finally got to swim in the sea! Was surprisingly cold really. Also got to see a huge cave with lots of funny stone formations.
Back in Hanoi we finally managed to find the 2000 dong/beer (about 10p/1nok) corner! Very exciting. Especially as they had kebabs there as well. Great kebab! Even though completelt against all good tradition we had it before clubbing :) and no funny bellies the next day.
After that we were ready for some culture again and set of towards the Demilitarised Zone.

Og veldig moro med bilder :-) hjemme er det regn og tåke og ikke noe som likner vinter. Varmt er det også...
Men snart er det 1 des og da er det julekalender! I dag er det julebord med jobb, og i to-kaffen hadde vi oppi bailys :D Deilig!

Won our rugby match yesterday 41 - 30 away against kidderminster!! Your sis has gone xmas shopping in telford so am left on my own!!! Had waffles for brunch though with eggs, bacon and syrup! YUM YUM
