Svosj, gone from Laos

So we didn't have time to go up north in Laos. Decided to go to Bangkok instead!! Knowing that Marc and Michelle were already there made it an even better idea.
We jumped on the bus for Ubon after a short songthaw ride to the bus station. Got stamped out of Laos and into Thailand, all for only 10000 kip! In Ubon I was starving, but a guy got hold of our bags and threw them on his bus that was leaving for Bangkok in five minutes. So we just had to follow... Tried to buy food at the first stop, but they wouldn't take dollars! I almost cried, but that didn't help either. Thankfully Caroline managed to change some dollars for bath with a couple of New Zealanders on the bus (think my brain was so energy deficient that I couldn't think by this point). The guy in the shop realised it was a food emergency and scoffed all the cakes and crisps he had into Carolines bag. Then followed a great feast on the bus!
Arrived in Bangkok at 5am, and had more food. Found Marc and Michelle and a place to stay, and headed for the irish bar. As you do :) Many beers later, the other 3 went for massage, whilst I chose alternative stress relief - shopping!! Didn't get very far though, as I ran into Antti and Risto and went back to the pub instead.
Had the first lie-in in since Phnom Pehn (hard work this travelling business) the next morning. Then repeated the scedule of the day before.
Right now I'm trying to sit still whilst waiting for the surprise M&M have for me and C! So so excited. Even though it has been resceduled for tomorrow as a late night chicken of a street stall is not agreeing with Marcs insides... Will let you all know as soon as I know what it is (think it involves food, so must be good).
Thank you very much for great email/comment updates, Foodge, Lindsey and Hege! When are you going to Wales, Goon? Ida, are you staying at the same adress?
Hope all is very very Christmassy at home!
Lots of love from us

Hei Guro!

Eg er stadig innom og les om alle opplevelsane dine. Det er veldig kjekt å følgja med.
I fageråsen går livet sin vante gang, men det spørs jo om juletreet blir skikkeleg pynta i år!
God tur vidare!!

Hmm...I think it's fair to assume that these guys really are from Finland...

Anyway: Fun to read about your adventures. Must admit that I'm extreeeemely jealous.
Thanks a lot for the postcard! Eagerly awaiting more...

Best wishes,
Kjetil (B)

Hello again you two.
It certainly is a busy task to see the world. But we hope you will find some calm in Tailand, (just sit on a beach and look at the sunset for some time). And look forward to Christmas (we will arrange a sattelite conferance at Christmas Eve, so you can join us). We shall send NRK with all their gears. Anyway, we will send you a mail with more news from home. So for now : love and hugs.

Ahhh, wicked that you bumped into Antii and Ristoff! Hopefully you ended up going to another crazy club. We are still in Luang Prabang, heading to Vang Vieng tomorrow. More on our blog, including some pics of Caroline: http://threesweetmonths.blogspot.com/
