so bad at updating blog now!!
its not that we're not doing anything its just that the days are flying and phoning home is harder, a few more personal emails means poor blog has been a little neglected!we've done brief updates on kerang and springvale, but we need to fill in a little more detail as this is officially our journal. my paperback currently is stuck in vietnam and guro is further back in china! ha ha ha ha
working at springvale is still cool. am slowly remembering how to be a vet! i seem to work with different people each day as people come and go from there holidays. its a shame i'll never see this place fully staffed as im promised 'its much more sane' then. have seen a few more racing greyhounds and bullshitted to their owners. am developing that great locum style of getting clients to come back on days i'm off and basing my medicine on making sure they dont die in the meantime! i really hope the springvale folk like my boss don't read this :) having lots of fun at work and getting paid is great. we think we can even afford a duna (thats duvet/quilt for anyone not in oz) as our thermostats are out - we're waking up in 20 degree nights because its so cold. can't wait to be on a beach in scotland in may for bros wedding!
i went back to kerang 2 weekends ago to pick up guro, or gooey as she's been named. we went back to the royal with libby and her mates and had a great celebration of our leaving (only to return 1 week later to visit!) loads of people came back to the house as they do every weekend and the party went on all night. we meant to head out in libbys mans boat on the sunday but a few people seemed to have come down with a 'tropical disease' stopping us (yes, i had a v bad bout!)
last week we were both back in frankston, i was supposed to work 4 days and gu was unemployed, but due to a handy rota error i was only in on monday and friday! so monday we quickly planned a midweek getaway (meaning we spent more than we earned this week.... oops) we met up with maria, guros 2nd cousin and her fiance luke on monday at their place in richmond (lovely area of melbourne v near the city). they cooked us a lovely lamb barby and divine chocolate cake and we enjoyed a glass a wine together late into the night. maria is so like her mum (who i met at guros dads family party) so we're really looking forward to meeting up again. on tuesday we ignored luke and maria as they headed out to work as we were unrousable until gone 9am. we went into melbourne and finally booked flights to the uk via bangkok to see the tigers we missed on our way out here. i've had a nightmare booking these fligths so am so happy now its done. we arrive in the uk on may 18th and leave may 29th. so midday we set off towards wilsons promontory national park. whilst on the freeway we got peckish and couldn't resist a dairy farm advertising food and calves to cuddle! it was so cool we stopped in on the way back too, guro the iced coffee addict decided it has the best iced coffee yet. wilsons prom is only 3 hours se of melbourne but by the time we arrived it was gone 4pm. we booked a night camping at the closest spot for an overnight hike 3 hours away and packed our huge rucksacks with our not so portable camping gear and set off. we must have been carrying more than 12kgs each! the walk was great, we saw lots of wombat poo and an echidna. we arrived at sealers cove camp at 8pm to find it packde with small school groups. they were mostly in bed though, so we found a spot, cooked and slept. we were off in the morning by 8.30am, the other campers lagging behind as they had about 1/4 of our distance to cover the next day. we walked through beautiful gum tree forrests and along ocean tracks. there were several beautiful white sand beaches that were so fine they squeak when you walk on them. swimming in the clear water felt like heaven - the beaches were better than thailand. it was a long 25km and we reached our 2nd campsite by 7.30pm. we set off stiff and tired to find a wombat and thankfully found one grazing so we could get to bed (our first wild wombat!).
the next day (thursday) i'd arranged a suprise for gooeys bday, a day at a hot mineral spring spa. gotta love presents you can share!! we had a relaxing mineral bath, then had our auras cleansed, a salt exfoliation and a mud wrap... all in an aboriginal stylee! it was a beautiful drive back to frankston up the mornington peninsula and then back to work friday. i have just arranged another birthday treat aswell, we're going swimming with dolphins and seals on guros bday at the same place my mum and me went with my big sis on her bday! hoping libby will come too.
not to want to sit and do nothing, at the weekend we headed back to kerang to catch up with libby and the boys. another night out and party but his time we made it out to the bush to camp and went out in the boats, and libby took us to an emu and ostriche farm!! so cool, the farmer showed us hatching ostriches, let us hold the hour old babies, and put up with all our daft vetlike questions. emus go crazy when you whistle, they fall over then run in circles!! a bit different to chicken farming dad, you should get some! we had a great time but now i'm back at work which is thankfully very quiet. guro has scored a job in geelong, an hour the other side of melbourne. she went over yesterday and started working today. it sounds really very special but i'll let her fill y'all in. i'm heading over tonight to visit and make sure she really isn't living in a stable like it sounds!
unfortunately gu hasn't seen a computer for the last month so you have to put up with me blogging. think she's even resorted to sending postcards.
huge congratulations to nic and oz, i hope everyone at home knows about the bump to be!!
jo we're gutted we cant make the wedding, and just by a few days! you'll just have to bring it forward
tor also sorry cant make the party... you better have another one soon as they're the best! and congrats on setting a date for the wedding
bro we're trying to change the flights so we can catch up in san fran, if not we know our next holiday destination, congrats to jenny on getting the job out there.
to the rest of you all - NO MORE BIRTHS, DEATHS OR MARRIAGES UNTIL WE RETURN. PLEASE. see you all soon

Rain i pouring down, its friday and I have very depressing plans... To work late! I think I'll have to have that bottle of wine next to the computer... :-)
It all estimates anyway so I think a little dizzy will be ok! haha...
