Congratulations Steve and Jenny!

Firstly, horrified guro's hard work on the photos has so far been unrewarded with a complete lack of comments - hope you didn't stop reading the blog just because of mega blog...
... and if any of you do feel like commenting would you also like to add a small 'ticking off' for guro as she is constantly biting her nails these days. bad guro :(
So, back to the UK for a wedding! sounds mad but it was great. Amazing to think that we can just stop this round-the-world venture and head home (treated to many creature comforts) to be back on the road in Australia only 14 dasy later!
Thanks very much Foodge for the lift from the airport... am sure we'll repay the 4am start at some point! From here to Derbyshire then Gu to Norway the next day. swoooosh! Mum and dad gave me and Andy (best man) a lift up to Steven and Jennys place in Dunfermline on the Tuesday where we stayed in their 4 bedroom place (v nice!). Dropped Andy here and headed to see my gran which was lovely, took her out for a cup of tea about half an hour from her Aberdeen home. Settled her back and then after a bit of a struggle found a place to stay wednesday night which would've been perfect for students wanting a night out at of of the many clubs downstairs or buisnessmen commuting to and from the oil fields. It did ok for us, sharing a family room with my parents for the first time in many years! Thursday morning we picked up Guro from a bumpy Bergen to Aberdeen flight and drove to our Camusdarrach accomodation, arriving that afternoon. Steven and Jenny had booked out a cottage with 2 floors one for the Neale's and one for the Davies (jenny's family name). It was ours for the week so Lindsey and Foodge were there to meet us after their touring holiday of the highlands. Thurdsday nights BBQ with the 2 families met with only one very small rainshower - very promosing for the cermony on the beach next day. Friday morning there was some table setting and hair doing etc, a trip to close-by Mallaig where Gu and I bought a kite (very important pre wedding things) and then dressed in our tailor made Vietnamese dresses with our Australian bought shoes and me in a new nice and warm wrap bought by mum (thank you) on our trip the day before. Guro and i then calmed the groom (well that was our excuse) by letting him fly our kite as everyone arrived at the beach. Jenny was beautiful and the ceremony proceeded without a hitch. There'll be some fantastic photos with sunlit beach and atmospheric sky threating - but not producing rain. So cool, and now brother is married!! Well done :)
Saturday we stayed in a great B&B in Edinburgh with a garden suite for me and Gu. En route Foodge, Lin, Gu and I stopped at Pitlocherie to see the salmon ladder and have a lovely haggis, neeps and tatties lunch, followed by Pirates of the Carribean (swoon). Sunday started with seeing Jenny Millgate (friend from uni) and having coffee in tolcross followed by a trip down memory lane and a pint in Drouthy's. We had a family lunch at the Flotterstone and then it was party time. Steven and jenny's reception was held at Napier overlooking the city. Haggis on the menu again (so good we headed back for 2nds) and then a ceilidh. Great party from which the happy couple left headed to sicilly for their honeymoon.
Back to Derby monday for us, then Heathrow and a 24hour flight via bangkok again to Sydney. Clever us managed to camp that night (saving some pennies) and from here started holiday proper... up the east coast!

Hi Guro and Caroline. Your mention of Pitlochry brought back fond memories of the place albeit 30 years ago when the children were small. Gord and I are having a week in Scotland soon so may see it again.
