Wellington

Watching Wellington beat Auckland
Laura (or Law, friend from college) in the Harry Potter queue
Lost...

So we arrived in Wellington 4 days ago now and we've got the ferry to Picton booked for tomorrow morning (7.30am ugh... have been lying in until past 11 most days here!) It's been a bit rocky getting on with Law and Ashers 'phsyco killer dog' Rocco but he's all talk really (only had us pinned to our seats not able to get up until Law and Asher got home once...!)
It's hard to really remember what we've been up to, I can tell you for sure that the last 2 days have been filled with Harry Potter joy - great last book. Law and I joined the queue at 11.00am and got our copies soon after the 11.01 release (much more sociable hour than in the U.K! And it's been an accomplishment I feel as Guro and I are sharing a copy and have not yet come to blows :) We get up, read, Guro knits whilst I read (she's just finished her very own goat scarf and is starting my 5% possum scarf!) and I wash up and blog whilst Guro reads and all the while Laura reads.... and Asher works cos she's got an exhibition tomorrow!
We did emmerse ourselves in Wellingtons culture - we had a coffee on Cuba street. Oh and we went to see Wellington beat Auckland in the rugby with only about 10 other spectators. I'm not making it sound overly exciting but we've really enjoyed being in Wellington. Guro and I have so far chickened out of the idea of borrowing wetsuits to snorkel for our own pouoa to eat and keep the shells (it is very cold and Harry is soo good) and we've not made it to the museum which was our one plan on coming here. But heading out for a few beers watching the crazy people and sleeping in a bed for a few nights thats not being blown around in the wind has been welcommed. And tomorrow to South island! A quick thanks to Law and Asher for putting us up, you've been great esp at dealing with our antisocial potter reading and us annoying Rocco :)
It'll be interesting to see where we blog next as the vague plan invovles jobs at a stables we heard about from other travellers which sounds too good to be true... a little bit of work in return for our keep. No doubt a few random adventures to follow before we catch up with Emily and Mark again in Christchurch, and hopefully Claire and Chris who are there also!
Happy Birthday to Vic and Kate and Tom for tomorrow - common birthday or what!
Love to all, c&g xx
