Woofing!!!

Guro giving me a Norwegian lesson on the beach!

Woofing! Horse trek to Wharariki beach :)
Reflections of guro! Fossil point.
Just a note (i would say a quick note but we're on dial up and i'd forgotten how slooow this is) to say we're still alive. No mobile reception as we're on the very north tip of south island just by Farewell spit. A couple we ran into doing the Tongoriro crossing (Ells and Coon) told us to drop by a horse trekking centre on the left on your way to the Spit, so we headed straight this way from the ferry not truely expecting to find the place or any work. One night in Collinwood, breakfast on a beautiful beach (the weather is finally being nice to us), an hour tramping to fossil point then a 10min drive up a gravel road we found Don and Gail and asked if we could work for food! They contemplated and said "you're woofers! great, at least you brought your own bedroom" :) It's day 2, we've been on two 3 hour horse treks in return for helping feeding once a day, generally cleaning up after ourselves and moving a bit of seagrass. We'll need to move on soon to keep travelling but there's so much potential with the rides on Wharariki beach by pools of seals, the beautiful lamb/steak dinners, the promise of picking our own Pouoa and mussels tomorrow, a farriery lesson (hands on) and i'm relearning to ride gail stylee. Woofing's the way to go, the trekking thrown in is amazing. we might head to their freinds place next, a sheep farm and they're lambing soon but its only 10km away so we won't have moved far! We'll keep you up to date. We managed a little veterinary work... gu just took 2 stitches out of Seth, the 4.5 yr old grandson!
Debs and David thanks for the piccies, they're fantastic :)
Hope all the UK clan aren't paddling yet! sorry if i complained about our floods but we got cut off too!
love c&g xx
