Sea to snow! Fjell og Fjord

This is today...

Just a little bit of norwegian to train you foreigners :) Means mountain and fjord.
Anyway - seeing Milford Sound from a kayak was great! And it didn't rain which was even better. Beautiful place. And only a few sandflies to keep us moving :)
Think Caroline was most relived that I finally saw a Kea though, she says I tend to obsess a bit a bout these things... but they are really cute! And we've now seen lots of them. The best Kea was sitting (and chewing) on a car as we got to The Chasm. So he might have got some crisps :)

We got to Queenstown in the evening and booked into the most expensive caravan park yet - 38$! Next morning we booked into the hostel included in our ridiculously cheap skiikng pack, and headed for Coronet Peak! So so good to have skies on our feet again! Even if I had to stick with slaloms, the guy in the shop just laughed when I asked for Telemark skies. He said they look so silly that they don't stock them here. Silly silly man. It was great anyway! Especially the mulled wine at Heidis Cafe at the end of the day :) Thanks Heidi!
The next day we moved on to The Remarkables to see the difference. Not so many lifts, but much more snow! So great for hopping of the pist for a few turns, and some fantastic falls :)
The afternoon was spent on the baby slope with both feet stuck to one board. Crazy idea, but turned out so to be so much fun that we kept in on for the last day too! We are now almost professionals, and C has already been offered a part in the ad for The Remarkables web site (a lady asked her if she could please repeat that great fall...)!

And now it is raining again... Seems we were very lucky with our timing, there are now rumuors that Coronet Peak has rained away and will not open again this season. Other rumours says more snow though, so we are heading for Treble Cone, the next ski field up the road :)

Will let you know how that goes!
Lots of love,
G&C
